Getting Started

Having trouble signing up?

Are you having trouble with your initial account verification?

Try exiting your browser window(s) with Little Outfitters and click through again from your verification email to a fresh page.

That should do the trick!

Having trouble with your ID verification?

In order for Stripe to verify you as a Seller, you need to upload a form of ID.

Important note: If the name on your account doesn't match your ID (i.e. maiden name is on ID and marital name is on your account) Stripe won't be able to verify you.

Should this happen, please send us a message and we'll amend your account information.

Do I need to bid on items?

At this stage we have not introduced a bidding system to our platform. However you may comment on an item to suggest an offer whereby the seller could change their listing price if they wish to do so. You can purchase an item based on it’s listed price only.

How do I sell items?

Click on the Sell button, located at the top right of your web page. Fill in the form with accurate product details, pay special attention to the condition standard and description of your item should there be anything that needs to be highlighted to potential buyers. Have a bit of fun in selling your item too! The next step is previewing your listing to check the details. You have the option to add a special feature to your item for an extra cost. Once confirmed, your item will be published. You can track all of your items in your profile under My Listings.

*Please note, you can’t sell any products without completing your profile details such as your Seller Details & bank account, Payment Method (adding in your preferred card) and My Address. This means when you buy or sell an item, your details can be exchanged with other involved buyer or seller.

How do I create my profile?

Click on the Sign Up button at the top right of our homepage. Enter your details into the form and click ‘Sign Up’. Alternatively you can sign up via Facebook. From here you’ll need to verify your account. To do this, please check your inbox for an email from us. Follow the instructions here by clicking on the Verify Account button. Make sure you set up your profile such as adding a friendly profile picture, your bank account details, preferred payment method and your delivery address. Then you’ll be all set to shop and sell some of the best designer goods our community has to offer.

How it works

I'm a parent, why should I join Little Outfitters?

Little Outfitters is designed for those who want their little ones to have luxury, quality and boutique style, even if they grow out of it in six-months time. Because as they’re growing up, we need a place to shop, sell, spend less on the things they need, and have a positive impact on the environment while we’re at it. We’re providing a platform for you to cycle outgrown garments and gear so we’re not adding new materials to the world. Just sharing better, loved ones.

What is Little Outfitters?

Little Outfitters is an online marketplace where members can buy and sell high quality, designer kids clothes and accessories for 0-10 year olds. There are over 2000 pre-selected brands (Accepted Brands) you’re able to list, to ensure you’re shopping only the best quality for your little ones.

Little Outfitters Valet

Finding the time to gather all your little one’s outgrown designer gear is one thing. For time-poor parents – also known as all parents - photographing, pricing and listing is a whole nother bedtime story. So we created a handy valet service where we do all the leg-work for you. You’re welcome.

Here's what to do:

  1. Pull your ruthless pants on and sort through your little one’s wardrobe, selecting any pieces that are ready to pass on. We’re also happy to take larger items off your hands such as prams and cots – have a squiz at our Accepted Brand Directory to check.
  2. Book a Saturday pick-up that suits you, all we require is a $10 fee. For now, our valet service is Auckland-based only.
  3. We’ll photograph and list your items on Little Outfitters for you. Sentiment aside, our pricing is based on market research, the brand and the condition of the item.
  4. Put your designer-clad feet up and wait for the item to be purchased by a savvy shopper. Once it's sold, we'll package it up beautifully and send it out to the new owner, then credit your account with 50% of sale price.
  5. Pat yourself on the back for joining the cycle of micro-style.

The nitty gritty:

Little Outfitters will choose at their sole discretion which items they wish to sell on your behalf. All items that do not get listed will be donated to Little Sprouts; a wonderful charity gifting baby boxes to families in need. That’s what we like to call a ‘win win’.

Little Outfitters has final say on the decision and no correspondence will be entered into. The clothing cannot be picked up or returned once we have acquired it. You will receive 50% of our recommended sale price for each item sold on the 10th of each month. Please read our Terms and Conditions by clicking here, or get in touch if you have any questions on hey@littleoutfitters.nz

Safety & Security

Do you store my credit card and personal information on Little Outfitters?

No. We don’t store user's credit card details or personal information. We have a system called Stripe implemented into our website which is responsible for holding all of your details securely. It is a world-renowned system used by the likes of Amazon, Google, Kickstarter, Spotify, Xero and Expedia, just to name a few.

Why does Little Outfitters need me to upload a form of ID?

We use a savvy, globally renowned payment platform called Stripe. Stripe is required to collect, verify, and maintain identity information on the individuals associated with a Stripe account. These requirements come from their regulators and financial partners, and are intended to promote transparency and provide security with your information when connecting to your bank so that you can receive payments. Rest assured that your information is safe. Please feel free to check out other companies that use Stripe and are commonly used by Kiwis, via this link.

Account Billing

Why are my payments getting declined?

Even if all of your card information is correct and you've made previous payments to us, a future charge can still be declined by a bank’s fraud systems.

When we submit a charge to your bank, they have automated systems that determine whether or not to accept the charge. These systems take various signals into account, such as your spending habits, account balance, and card information like the expiration date and CVC.

Double check that all of the entered information is correct and if you are still unable to make a payment, try reaching out to your banking institution and ask if there are any restrictions on your card. If the issue is still not resolved, try another card or contact us and we can help.

Why is there a $0 or $1 charge on my bank statement?

When someone attempts to store their card to be charged later, our payment provider Stripe send over a request to their issuing bank for either a $0 or a $1 authorisation (different banks permit different amounts) to verify that the card is issued and the bank will allow it to be authorised.

Regardless of whether or not the authorisation is declined, Stripe reverses the authorisation request immediately. However, even if the bank declines the authorisation, some people may still see an authorisation for $1 on their credit card statement.

The important thing to remember is that this is not a charge, and it will disappear from their statement; depending on the bank, it will be removed from their statement in anywhere from a few minutes to a few weeks.

It’s also important to note that just because the bank approved a $1 authorisation, it doesn’t guarantee approval when you charge the card. The authorisation helps weed out a lot of the cards that would be problematic, but it’s not able to guarantee that your next payment will be successful.

Can I get a refund?

When a member purchases another member’s item, a contract will be formed between those members directly. We do not act as an agent for either party and do not participate in any provision of goods or services or any transaction between you and other members; we simply facilitate payments made by one member to another. This situation should be avoided if the seller abides by their obligations in our Terms. Items for sale must be at an acceptable standard of quality.

For peace of mind, we'll review on a case by case basis.

How can I update my payment method?

Click into your profile, on the top right-hand side of the website. You can click on the Payments tab where your active payment method will be displayed. If you wish you change your card details, simply delete the existing one, and click on the Add Payment Method button.
